To shorten production cycles and to maintain the integrity of customer-supplied files, Mitchell Press works in a PDF (Portable Document File) workflow.
The advantages of the PDF workflow can be enhanced further when PDF files are created correctly at the desktop stage before being submitted to our Prepress Department.
writing or saving PostScript The print dialogue box provides the options of sending a file to a printer or to File. Saving a job as File creates a PostScript file required to create the PDF file.
You will need to download and install the appropriate PPD (Printer PostScript Description) file. Get files from the links on the right.
distilling the PostScript file Using software called Adobe Acrobat Distiller (included in the commercial Adobe Acrobat package) the PostScript file is converted into a PDF file.
The PDF file created can now be viewed and printed out in Adobe Acrobat and then supplied to Mitchell Press.
